What is Futrix?

Futrix is a web based business intelligence software solution with a comprehensive set of tools for analysis and reporting. Futrix offers easy access to information for business users. Is Futrix a desktop or a web application?

Futrix is primarily a web application. The Futrix Administration console is used in a SAS desktop environment.

Which operating platforms are supported?

Any of the Windows, UNIX, or Linux operating systems that a supported version of the SAS BI Server platform runs on. Please consult your Futrix representative if you have a specific platform in mind.

What versions of Futrix are available and which one should I be using?

The latest production release is Futrix 6. This is the version that we recommend due to many enhanced features, compared to older versions. Futrix 5, 4.1, 4.05 and 4.0 are older releases but still fully supported.

Which SAS software versions does Futrix support?

The following list details the minimum SAS software version required for each Futrix release:

Futrix 6 – SAS 9.1.3 to 9.2
Futrix 5 – SAS 8.2 to 9.1.3
Futrix 4.1 – SAS 8.2 to 9.1.3
Futrix 4.05 – SAS 8.1 to 9.1.3
Futrix 4.0 – SAS 8.1 to 9.1.3

Will Futrix work with future versions of SAS?

With the most recent version of Futrix, we endeavour to make whatever changes are necessary to ensure that Futrix works fully with future SAS production versions. This depends on SAS supporting the required SAS software products in these future versions.

What SAS software licenses are required to use Futrix?

Futrix is based on the SAS Business Intelligence platform; therefore SAS must be installed and licensed prior to using Futrix.

Futrix leverages the SAS9 BI Server platform, so this must be licensed before Futrix can be used. Some advanced Futrix functionality makes use of additional SAS9 BI Server software. Please consult your Futrix representative about your specific configuration and requirements.
